The Norva gig was a hell of a good time and we'd like to thank everyone who came out to see us along with all the great bands that we shared the stage with. We will be donating $83.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundaction in lieu of our ticket sales and really appreciate all of you who bought one. We would also especially like to thank 710OIL once again for offering us a supporting slot at the show and hope that we get the opportunity to play with them again in the near future. For the time being we will be back in the studio working on the new album, but you can still catch us at the occasional Acoustic Sence gig. Thanks again for all your support!!!
1/12/2008
On Thursday, January 31st we will be playing at the Norva in downtown Norfolk along with several other local acts. We are supporting 710OIL who arranged the event and will be headlining. Many thanks to them for inviting us and for being a great bunch of guys. Standing Ground, Thundercock, and Chasing Corona will also be supporting. The show will start at approximately 6:30pm and go all night. We are taking this opportunity to showcase several of our new tunes that will be appearing on our upcoming album. Having been locked up in the studio for well over a year we are looking forward a great deal to this event. During this time we also lost someone very close to the band to cancer. In lieu of this, we have decided to donate 2 dollars from every one of our ticket sales to the National Breast Cancer Foundaction. Unfortunately too many of us know someone either directly or indirectly that has been effected by this. We hope that our and any contribution helps to alleviate the pain connected to this disease. Tickets can be purchased for $12.00 from any one of the band members directly or can be mailed to you if you have a PayPal account. Please contact Chuck at 757-406-3593 and/or via email at crgray73@yahoo.com (please put ‘tickets’ in the subject heading) for more information and/or purchasing of tickets. We hope to see you there and are looking forward to a great evening of live local music!!!

As many of you know, Acoustic Sense has been a side project of Bryan's for quite sometime. Acoustic Sense incorporates drums/bass/mandolin/and acoustic guitars to bring together an impressive live show consisting of cover songs ranging from, but not limited to, music by Led Zeppelin, Tool, Pink Floyd, A Perfect Circle, Sublime, AudioSlave, Alice In Chains, Maroon 5, Stone Temple Pilots, Ben Harper, Johnny Cash, Dave Matthews, and The Police. Several of the other members of Divine Ratio have often played in the side project as well and recenlty, as it turns out, Acoustic Sense has become completely composed of the Divine Ration lineup and vice versus. In this respect, we are now able to bring some of our original Divine Ratio music into the side project as well as play more often and at different venues. We are hopeful that this will be beneficial to both us and our fans. On another note, we are still pushing strong in the studio and expect to be done by Spring of 2008. Although it has been hectic at times and we have gone through some changes in terms of lineup we are fully confident that our end product will be quite extrodinary on several fronts and well recieved. On January 31st we will be playing the Norva with several other great local bands and introducing some new material!!! Many thanks to fellow musiciams 710OIL, who will be headlining, for setting up this show. Please check the shedule page and/or our MySpace for more details. Thanks for stopping in and happy holidays!

Once again we apologize for the tardiness on the news front, but we have been incredibly busy in the studio. We are very close to completing the writing process so that we can begin recording. Once this happens things should move substantially quicker. As we go through this process we have been recording 'scratch trax' for our producer to critique before we actually begin recording the permanent tracks for the album. These 'scratch trax' as we call them are just tools that we use to think about the structure of the song and nothing more. They have not be mixed nor mastered by our engineer and/or producer. They are our take home tracks if you will and may not even end up on the album. We thought however, that it would nice to throw a couple of these up for you all to listen to in order to have a bit of an idea of where we are headed. So go ahead and check out the "sounds" page when you get a chance and feel free to listen to the two 'scratch trax' we put up. Thank you all so much for sticking with us throughout this process. We are very excited about completing this project and believe that you will agree that it has been worth the wait. Cheers!!! dr...

Many new developments have taken place over the last month. We have been making and considering some interesting changes both musically and internally. Much more will be revealed in the near future. Until then please stay with us just a bit longer as we are very much immersed in completing the album and looking forward to hitting the stage again.
4/13/2007
Well, it's been a little longer than usual since the last update so we thought we best drop a line and say hello...and just to put all the rumors at bay let us reconfirm that NO!, we have not shaved our heads and joined a sun-worshipping cult. Perhaps down the road a bit we could get into that for research reasons but for now we'll just keep plugging away at this album we're working on and hope that the Canary Island volcano doesn't blow and send 100 foot waves crashing onto the Eastern Seaboard at 600mph. On another note, we have become increasingly immersed and impressed over the last two years with an absolutely incredible band called Porcupine Tree. If you have not heard of them as of yet please do yourself a huge favor and check them out here. They are currently touring the US as well, so definitely catch a show if you can. You will not be disappointed. To stick with the band spamming, please also note that Tool will be at the Richmond Coliseum on June 7th. It would be a crime, literally, to miss this one!!! Some good stuff there to tide you over. Thanks once again for being so patient as we complete the album and until next time we leave you with these words of wisdom from Mr. Jack Handy: If trees could scream, would we be so cavalier about cutting them down? We might, if they screamed all the time, for no good reason.
2/16/2007
Drudging through a basket of DR memorabilia the other day we found a video from a Norva gig we did in September of 2005. Although the sound quality came out poorly due to some funky audio connections that night the video itself came out well. We snagged some screen captures from the video and put them in a slideshow. We thought you might enjoy them. Although they're a bit on the fuzzy side there a cool one here and there. Just follow the link on the photos page to view them. On another note, yes, we did have a Gil's show scheduled recently. We have decided however that, unless imperative, our concentration should remain on recording the album first and foremost. We're planning on touring once it's done and we hope to see you there and everywhere. Until next, time keep the peace.
1/15/2007
We're still in the studio working on our upcoming album which is coming along even better than expected. The recent show that was listed has been cancelled due to our recording obligations. Stay tuned though as we have a summer tour in the planning stage to promote our upcoming release. Cheers and beers!!!
1/9/2007
Yep, it's 2007 already. The year sure did go by fast. We hope you had a great holiday season and an even better beginning to the new year. We have lots of things in store for 2007, first and foremost of course is the completion of our first full-length album. A tour is in the works following that in support of the new material. Things are coming along nicely in the studio and we have much faith that you will be very pleased with our upcoming release. We anticipate that the album is only a few months away completion. Please check back often and let's all make this year the best one yet!!!
12/16/2006
We've added some more pictures to our 'Studio Shoots 2006' slide show (soon to become 'Studio Shots 2006-2007'). They are quite funny to say the least. You can find them here or, of course, linked on the photos page. Cheers!!!
12/02/2006
Damn, has it really been over a month since the last news update?!!!! Apparently it has and we sincerely hope that you can let that little oversight just kinda pass by like a mild fart in the wind. Just so you're all aware, we're plugging away at the album on practically a daily basis. Lots of cool things have been happening in the studio as we write and tweak our tunes. We are very excited about the outcome of this whole process and we feel that it will be well worth the wait. Please keep in touch and if you're the holiday celebrating type do enjoy. Also, if any of you have any live recordings and/or video of us we'd love it if you'd pass us a copy. There'll be some goodies in it for you.
10/29/2006
Thanks to everyone who came out to the show this past Friday. Lake Trout was stellar as usual and the Granby Theater is a killer venue. Hopefully we'll get to gig there again down the road. It was really refreshing for us to play live again after being in the studio for some time now. As we continue hammering out our upcoming album we'll try to squeeze in a show here and there to keep us all sane. Thanks again and stay connected.
10/16/2006
On Friday, October 27th we have the pleasure of playing with Lake Trout at the Granby Theater in Norfolk. It will be a nice break from our current doings in the studio and a long overdue live show with a great band. This show will most likely sell out so make sure to get your tickets soon. Check the 'live dates' page for more info. We hope to see you there.
9/26/2006

We will not be playing this Friday at Tonic's w/710OIL. No need to worry, just had some unexpected things arise. You know, that thing called life. What a pain in the ass. 710OIL is still gonna bring the house down, so make sure to some them some support. Thanks for stopping by and we knew Karr was full of shit.

Contrary to all the rumors that have been floating around, NO… We did not auction off our equipment for a trip to Amsterdam, we are not working on a life-size wax sculpture of Huey Lewis and his bass player with the constant dangling cigarette, we did not have anything to do with Landis’s suspiciously high levels of testosterone, we are not changing our format to incorporate some famous rapper, not one of us auditioned for rockstar supernova, we did not find Waldo or the singer for Georgia Satellites, and we did not find our inner children and that they had mommy issues. We have also not undergone any sex change operations, recently spent time in prison, watched the Lifetime channel, wrote any autobiographies, joined any self-help groups, found religion and have been reborn, nor have we eaten any green m&m’s, bought copies of the 'Bridges of Madison County' special extended edition DVD, were arrested for public urination, or started a cult based on worshipping dust mites. We did however, write some new material, play gigs at The Saint in NJ and another at Phil’s Grill w/Freedom Hawk, and start recording our new album. Many thanks to everyone who came out to see us and to Freedom Hawk for being a kick ass band and great bunch of guys!!! We WILL, however, be continuing with the album, playing several shows in the next few weeks and trying to update the news here more often. Check out the 'live dates' page for details on the upcoming shows. Many of you are hitting the myspace cite, which is cool, but we want both cites up, running and current. Thanks so much for stopping by, don’t believe all the hype, and check back often. Lots of good things coming in the future, aside from that big ass global destroying comet, B612…what, you didn’t know about it?…google it. Peace, pot and microdots and lots of love: DR…
7/29/2006
We'll be playing tonight at Phil's Grill with Freedom Hawk. Show starts around 9:00pm.
7/03/2006
Just checking in and letting everyone know that we are plugging away in the studio...Thus the slow down on the news end. We will continue to gig as much as possible though and have several upcoming shows both locally and regionally. We've been introducing some new material at the shows so make sure to catch us live. Thanks for staying connected.
6/13/2006
As you are probably already aware the website was down for a few days. We apologize for this and obviously the issue has been resolved now. Thanks to everyone who came out to the Tanner's Creek show last Saturday night with 710OIL. As usual we had a great time and 710 kicked ass. Make sure to check out their website for upcoming gigs. We're finally headed into the studio this week to begin the recording of our new album so make sure to check back often as we will update our progress. Keep an eye on the 'Live Dates' page as well for our upcoming shows.

A huge shout out to Pedestal and 710OIL!!! If you weren't there last Saturday night not only did you miss us but you also missed excellent performances from Pedestal & 710. Great bands and awesome guys. Make sure to check out their respective websites for upcoming gigs. Hopefully we'll play some more shows with them before the CA move. And as always, many well deserved thanks to all the fans that came to show support and have a great time. The next show we have is a road trip, so make plans early. Check out the 'live dates' page for more info.

We'll be playing tracks from both our demo and live show recordings, discussing the upcoming album, the move to LA and promoting some upcoming gigs. Tune in if you can and thanks for staying connected. We appreciate all the support.

Wow!!! What a weekend. Thanks to everyone who came out to see us. The Peppermint show Friday night was outstanding and Jimmie's Chicken Shack kicked ass. Awesome bunch of guys. Hopefully we'll gig with them again. Thanks of course to Bob Mould , another wonderful musician, for the Jewish Mother show Sunday night and the opportunity to open for a living legend. The next show we have lined up will be with Sekshun-8 at the Armory in Portsmouth on 4/22. Check the tour page for more info. We'll have some more gigs listed soon so make sure to check back often. Don't forget that we're headed to LA at the end of this summer for good, so we'll only have a limited number of shows before we hit the road. Hope to see you soon, ~DR~...
3/24/06
We have a couple of announcements for you today. First off, as most of you already know, we'll be playing tonight at the Peppermint Beach Club with Jimmie's Chicken Shack. The show will start around 8pm and we'll be hitting the stage right before JCS. Also, on this Sunday (3/26) we are doing a special 'Acoustic Divine Ratio' set at the Jewish Mother in Virginia Beach. We will be opening for the famed Bob Mould formerly of Sugar and Hüsker Dü. The show will start around 7pm. You have two chances to catch us this weekend, acoustic and electric, so no excuses. In fact, why not both? Come on out and share the weekend with us. Make sure to check out the tour page for more info.

David (Jon) Gilmour of Pink Floyd hit the 6th decade mark today. His new solo album 'On and Island' hits stores in the US tomorrow, March 7th. Happy birthday Dave!!!

On Saturday, April 22nd we'll be playing with Sekshun-8 at the Armory in Portsmouth. Those who were unable to see us at the Peppermint and/or lost money can get into the show for free. Just make sure to email us here so that we can create a list.
2/27/06
For your information: Drummer/Percussionist James Roman of yours truly, Divine Ratio, is currently accepting drum students. All ages and ability levels are welcome. For rates, times, and further information feel free to contact James at (757) 672-1188.

We'd like to send out our sincerest apologies to everyone that came out to last Saturday's show and was informed by the staff at the venue that we weren't playing. We know that some of you weren't told until after you paid to get it and were not able to get a refund. The reality is that we did play that night and it was, in all respects, a huge miscommunication on the part of the club. As many of you are aware by now this was just the 'tip ole the iceberg' of problems surrounding that show. Divine Ratio is not pleased in any manner with level of non-professionalism that was displayed throughout the evening. We of course appreciate that most of you have been understanding regarding the matter and we hope in all certainty to avoid this type of situation again. For those of you who came to out see us and were turned away and/or lost money please email us here with your address and we'll mail you some free CD's and T-Shirts. Also, on Saturday, April 22nd we'll be playing with Sekshun-8 at the Armory in Portsmouth. Any of you who got screwed last Saturday can get into this show for free, just mention that you plan on coming when you email us so that we can make a list.
2/25/06
Things have been a bit a slack on the news updates lately but certainly not due to a lack of it. There are lots of goings on currently in the DR camp. We are preparing to record a new album as most of you are aware and have also been busy booking gigs for this Spring and Summer, many of which will be announced soon. Also, and grab a beer for this, an agreement has been reached by the four of us to relocate Divine Ratio to LA. We'll have more on this in the months to come of course, but as of right now the plans are to be on the West Coast by early this Fall. So yes, the rumors have been true. Let's hope that the Fall 2006 Pink Floyd Reunion tour rumor fairs in a similar fashion. Until then we plan to gig as much as possible locally and to get the new album packaged and distributed. Tonight we'll be playing the Peppermint Beach Club with Red Metric and on Friday, March 24th we'll be playing the Peppermint with Jimmie's Chicken Shack. Take some time off and come out to the show. We have some new tunes for you and by the end of the summer it will be quite a drive, to put it mildly, to catch us live. We have several more shows that are awaiting confirmation and you'll know as soon as we do. You can always check the tour page for our current schedule. Thanks for your continued support and for staying connected, ~DR~

Thanks to everyone who came out to the Chichos show last Friday night. We had a blast and hopefully we'll be playing there again down the road. Thanks of course to counterfeit molly as well. They're a hell of a band and a great bunch of guys so make sure to check out their website and to catch their live shows. We have the Peppermint Beach Club show with Red Metric coming up on Saturday, February 25th and a few others that we'll be announcing shortly so keep an eye on our tour page.
1/27/06
As most of you know we aren't real big on doing the cover tune thing, but there are a few songs that we just can't resist from bands such as Tool and Pink Floyd. On New Years Eve '05 we decided to play 'Time' off of Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon album...Divine Ratio style of course. Since we recorded the show that night we figured you may want a listen if you missed it live. Feel free to check it out when you get a chance on the music page. Also, for the time being we have removed the FM99 Homegrown interview and the live acoustic track of 'I Know' from the music page. We're in the process of increasing our storage space here on the site but until then we need to be a bit conservative on the amount of audio. Make sure to stay connected as we have some big announcements coming up in the next few months. Until next time, take care...
1/18/06
Another show date added to the tour page. We'll be playing at Chichos on January 27th with counterfeit molly. Tickets are $5. The show starts at 10pm.

For those of you who don't know yet, we played several new tunes at the NYE show and it just so happens that we recorded the gig. Today and over the next several weeks we will placing a couple of these 'live tracks' up for you to listen to. These are songs that we'll eventually be recording and will of course be appearing our on upcoming album. The first one up is entitled 'Phidias'. You can check it out here or on the music page. This is only a sample of the live recording as the actual song is quite a bit longer. Keep checking back as we'll have more to come. Thanks again for all of your support.

We'll be adding individual band member bio's to the site soon. Just click on our names on the bio page.

Today marks the 60th birthday of Pink Floyd founding member Roger Keith "Syd" Barrett. One of the world's most influential musicians, Syd not only gave birth to the Floyd but the unfortunate events that surrounded his departure from the band gave Pink Floyd it's continuing musical soundscape of life, death, exploration, excess and madness. Once you know the 'story' behind and around Syd it is hard not feel his presence in every Floyd song you hear. We wish you a happy birthday Syd and thank you for your amazing and lasting contributions to the world of art and music.
1/05/06
Obviously we've made some changes to the website over the last several days. We hope you that you enjoy the new layout. Please feel free to drop comments and/or suggestions in our guest-book regarding the site.
1/04/06
New show date added to the tour page. We'll be playing the Peppermint Beach Club with Sekshun 8 and Red Metric on Saturday, February 25th. More info to come, so stay tuned.
1/03/06
Happy New Year a few days late!!! Sorry for the delay here on the home front but it seems a NYE gig results in needing a couple days of recuperation afterward. We're quite sure that several million people welcomed the first day of 2006 a little bit under the weather so to speak :-)...Thanks to everyone who came out to the show and special thanks to Joe for running the lights, Alan for doing a great job on the sound once again, Trista for compiling yet more live ~DR~ footage, Jillian's, Jack Daniels, and of course Red Metric. We'll be heading into the studio shortly to record a new album, but we'll be playing some dates over the next several months so make sure to check back often. We thank you for all your support over the last year and hope your new year is off to great start.
12/31/05
Hell Yeah...The last day and night of 2005 is here. If you didn't get all the things accomplished so far this year that you wanted to you are officially SOL as of 12:01.01 tonight. Just a little humor there to ring in the New Year. Better yet, get your ass down to Jillian's tonight and ring it in with us and Red Metric.
12/31/05
If you missed us on Homegrown the other night don't sweat it cause we've got your 'live on the radio DR' right here. Click HERE to hear the whole show which includes interviews with yours truly, two tracks off our demo and a rare acoustic version of an upcoming album track entitled 'I know'. If you want to listen to the acoustic track only click HERE. Enjoy!!!
12/28/05
We had a great time on Homegrown last night. A big shout out and thanks to Shelly and Eric for being such great hosts and to everyone that tuned in. Shelly, for those of you who don't know, plays bass with ENDCHAIN. Make sure to check out their site, they have lots of upcoming gigs. We also hope you enjoyed the acoustic version of our new song 'I know'. This will of course be one of the tracks on the upcoming album and we'll be doing the electrified version of it at the NYE show. If you tuned in last night you also heard cuts from DR friends and local rockers Red Metric and Pedestal. Red Metric as you know are playing the NYE show as well. Check the previous posts for the NYE gig info and thanks again for checking in.
12/27/05
Make sure to tune in FM99's local music show Homegrown tonight from 11pm to 12am as we'll be the featured quests.
12/20/05
The tickets for the New Years Eve show at Jillian's with yours truly and Red Metric have been reduced to $40/person and $75/couple. Please see the preceding posts for the skinny on the show. It's going to be one to remember and we've got several new tunes for you. On a side note: David Gilmour of Pink Floyd, a DR favorite, has just announced US tour dates for April 2006 in support of his upcoming solo album release 'On an Island'. This may be one of the last times to see this giant live and the some of the venues in the UK sold out in 7 minutes, so if interested check either Brain Damage (the be all and end all of Floyd sites) and/or Dave's Official site. Until next time, take care and don't eat the brown acid...
12/17/05
The Coast (96.1), Max FM (100.5), The Point (94.9), and Bob FM (93.7) will all be airing adverts for the upcoming New Years Eve show at Jillian's starting on Dec. 19th and tickets are already selling, so make sure to get yours ASAP. You can pick them up at Jillian's or contact us and/or Red Metric for information. At this time we're not sure about any max capacity regulations but we'll let you know. Best thing for the time being is to get yours now. The previous post has more information regarding the happenings. Take care...
12/09/05
The following update replaces any prior information regarding the New Years Eve Show. Here's what's been confirmed to date: Tickets for the show will be $40 for one person and $75 for a couple. Included in each is an all you can eat buffet with cut to order prime rib, 1 Jillian's game card loaded with 5000pts (2 for a couple), 2 glasses of champagne for the New Years Toast (4 for a couple), and most importantly, live performances by yours truly from 10-11:30pm and Red Metric after midnight to close. The JD Girls will be on hand and will be holding raffles throughout the night giving away a wide variety of Jack Daniels memorabilia. A VIP/Jack Daniels area has also been reserved for the band members and invited guests which will have a bar, massage tables, movies on screen, and miscellaneous free goodies. If you would like access to the VIP area send us an email here. Don't forget to tune in to FM99's local music show Homegrown on Tuesday, December 27th and make sure to check back here for further updates. This is going to be one hell of a show, so come on out and ring in the New Year with us.
11/25/05
First and foremost, and yes it's official, DR is now sponsored by Jack Daniels Tennessee Whiskey. We are really excited to be partnering with such a great company and of course this means free goodies at the shows kids. Just one more reason to come on out and share the DR experience with us. The Jillian's New Years Eve show, as noted earlier, has been confirmed and here's the rundown so far: DR will be performing from 10:00 to 11:30 pm after which will be the champagne toast and countdown. Red Metric will go on shortly after we ring in the New Year and will close out the night. The show will take place in the VIP Room and will be broadcast via the house video monitors throughout the rest of Jillian's as well as through a live web-cast. There'll be a kick ass buffet. Admission will probably be about $20-$25... we'll confirm this shortly. DR will also be featured on FM99's local music show Homegrown on Tuesday, December 27th from 11pm to 12am. Make sure to tune in. Lots of things in the works right now so stay connected and spread the word. More to come...
11/21/05
All the 'when the hell are you guys playing out again' questions can now be laid to rest as the answer is New Years Eve. Along with Red Metric we'll be breaking in the New Year at Jillian's in Downtown Norfolk, VA. More details to follow in the next couple of weeks so stay tuned.
Captains Log: Stardate 110105.1
It looks as if DR may have a sponsor -- we aren't sure of all the particulars yet but 'tis good news indeed. More on this later as we get more details. As for the new album...there'll only be two songs on it but each one is 45 minutes long :-). Seriously though, it's in the works...and we plan to release a couple of singles along the way. We got the video back from the Norva show but unfortunately there were some issues with the audio signal (everything was 'in the red' for you gear freaks). No ones fault really, just one of those things...We were able to get some good still-shots from it though...you can check a few of them out on our photos page. There will be some video here on the site down the road however we promise, possibly documenting some of the recording process. It also looks like we may be playing a couple festivals next year out west and possibly one in Toronto. We'll keep you posted. Oh, and if you thought you heard us on FM99's Homegrown spot the other night you were right. We'll be doing the show in a month or so, so stayed tuned. Once again, thanks for stopping by and staying informed. We're hard at work trying to reach the masses...at least that dude who hangs out by the trash can in front of Seven Eleven.

Wow!!!! It's be awhile. Sorry for the delay on the news-front here. There were some computer issues that had to be dealt with. Anyway, we are getting ready to embed ourselves in the studio for several months at the least. We will most likely pull a gig or two during this time as well to keep our feet wet, but our priorities are to get you all some new material. It looks as if we are going to record a full album but we will probably release a single or two along the way. Of course if we book a show we'll let you know here and we will periodically keep you posted on the recording process. Thanks for checking in, thanks for the support, and we hope to see you soon.

Although we are certainly handsome individuals by all accounts and have turned down numerous lucrative modeling contracts in pursuit of more musical avenues, we here at ~DR~ HQ want you to be engulfed not by our regal presence but by those audio and visual sensations that both excite and calm. At the forefront of our endeavor is the desire to present an experience of which the focal point is not our physical image and a bit of music or vice versa. For this reason we are extending our hands to both the artistic and technological communities in hopes of creating a union. We are seeking individuals with knowledge beyond a standard light show and skilled in live audio and video synchronization, artists of all walks (painters, poets, etc.), and anyone for that matter that is intrigued by the music we create and in this feel they have the capability to make the live performance move beyond just sound. We are very opened minded about this pursuit and currently the ideas are flowing so feel free to drop us a line in reference. We hope to see you soon.

Unfortunately all the previous guest-book entries got deleted. We're not sure yet how this occurred but hopefully it was something on our end and not a hacking issue. Either way we apologize for this and want to let you know that we appreciate all your kind words and support. We will be setting up a flash based site in a few months along with updating security, etc., so hopefully this was a one-time only deal. Please feel free to post comments again. We've also added a new section on the links page that includes links to several other websites out here in the false reality of cyber-numbness that have ~DR~ info. Feel free to check them out. We've gotten a lot of great feedback from our recent months of shows and many of you are curious as to when the next one will be and when the new CD will be available. To answer the first question...ASAP. We're working on a couple of deals as you’re reading this and will soon be coming to a theater near you. In response to the second question...We're hoping to have new material out by the end of the year at the latest. The Floyd might be able to get away with an album a decade but at this point we may need to move a bit quicker than that.

We are currently in the process of lining up gigs for the next several months. Keep an eye on the tour page for updates. We also plan on getting back into the studio soon to record some new material and unfortunately, amid a infinitely countless number of begging requests, we will not be recording a version of Slaughter's 'Fly to the Angels'. Sorry but it's just too nostalgic. We pray you know that we're kidding. Enjoy the holiday weekend and remember to stay alert when drinking around those who carry digital cameras because you never know when you'll end up on the internet...

Wow!!! What a great time we had at the Norva. Smoke, lights, searing guitars, impeccable beats, blistering vocals...drunk, semi-drunk, and sober fans and musicians made for a monumental evening and definitely the most memorable Wednesday night to date. First and foremost a huge shout out to our fans, you are who it's all about...music is meaningless without you unless a band just wants to play with themselves. Of course a special hands down and around huge thanks to Red Metric for hooking up the gig and for being a great bunch of guys. Make sure you check their website as they are currently in the midst of quite an extensive tour. Alizon Device, Nowhere, and Brandon Kuptz all rocked the stage throughout the evening as well and we are thrilled to have gotten a chance to play with all of these great local/regional acts. Along with Red Metric we also had our set filmed, so we will have video up on the site here in the near future for all to enjoy. Thanks also to all the great guys and gals who work the Norva and make it one of the best venues in Virginia. We hope to see you all there again soon. Keep an eye on our tour page as we will have some new gigs lined up shortly and in the infamous words of one of the great psychologists of our time, Dr. Frazier Crane, 'thanks for listening'...
8/22/05
We have confirmation on show times for the Norva gig this Wednesday. Things will kick of with Brandon Kuptz at 7:00pm and we will be taking the stage at 8:00pm. Red Metric will be playing after our set. We still a few tickets left but they are going fast so make sure to contact us via phone or email for yours. They are more expensive if you get them at the door. We are looking forward to playing with some great Hampton Roads groups and having a nice mid-week break from the daily routine. We hope to see you there.

First off we'd thank to thank both Alizon Device and Dying Breed for pulling the Gil's show with us last Saturday. Both are great bands and we had a blast. Alizon Device will also be playing the Norva with us next week on Wednesday the 24th. The doors open at 6:00pm and the show will start at about 7:00pm. We're not exactly sure of the line up yet, but it looks like we will be playing at 8:00pm. Once we get confirmation we'll let you know. We still have tickets left so make sure you contact either James at (757) 672-1188 or Bryan at (757) 288-2642 for them. Until next time, take care.
8/13/05
Alizon Device and Dying Breed will be opening up the show at Gil's tonight so make sure you get there early. Come on out, show some support, and have a few drinks. More info regarding the Norva show on the 24th will be posted shortly. And as always, remember: Crowded elevator smell different to midget...

Tonight's show has been moved to the VIP Room instead of Live Bait due to the weather. Also, we have taken down the forum for the time being and added a guest book to the site. This is most likely the better alternative as we will have a 'myspace' page set up soon. Feel free to drop some comments in the guest book and we hope to see you this weekend at the Live Bait shows. We have also added several new ~dr~ related visuals as well.

Tickets for the Norva show on Wednesday, August 24th are now available. They are $10 each. Please contact James at (757) 672-1188 or Bryan at (757) 288-2642 for them or better yet, come to one of our live shows beforehand and get 'em there. Several bands will be playing that evening starting at approx. 7pm. We will most likely have a middle slot and as more accurate info comes in we'll post it here. Those of you that have been to the Norva before know what a great venue it is to play and we're excited to be asked there again, so come out and show your support for some great local acts. We'll be at Live Bait this Friday (VIP Room if it rains) and also on Sunday. Check the tour page for more info on these dates.

We'd like to give a huge shout out and thanks to Revery. Friday night's show was a blast and we had a great time. Things are happening quickly for them so make sure you check them out while they're still in the area. We'd also like to send out a special thanks to Rory for providing a great mix and most importantly to all the fans who came out to the show. On that note, make sure to check us out at the Norva on August 24th. Yep, it's a Wednesday, but we'll be playing with Red Metric and several other great bands, so break up your work week and come have some fun. We'll have more info on this show in the following weeks.

It's way too early in the 'am' to be posting info on the news page, but we all know that true rockers don't have real jobs so we've got nothing better to do at the moment. We do, however, have a steady schedule of rehearsals and gigs and want you do know that we've just added another. This upcoming Friday we will be playing with Revery at Live Bait so bring your asses and have some fun. Check the tour page for details.
7/10/05
We have just added a forum to the site. Instead of having a message board, etc., we thought this would a better alternative and maybe become a place where everyone can share their thoughts about the band, local scene, or whatever. You must register (it's free) if you want to post on the forum and if you're not familiar with how they work just check out the FAQ page on the forum. Click here to visit the forum and make sure to check out the tour page for our upcoming show dates.

The Gil's show scheduled for tonight has been cancelled for medical reasons. Don't worry, no one is getting a sex change or anything, just feeling under the weather. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope to see you soon on a later date. Have a great weekend and free Willey...

Well, we hope that you all had a great 4th and we'd like to thank all of you that came out to see us Live Bait. Check out the tour page as we have added new dates and hope to see you there. On another musical note: the Floyd once again proved that they are worthy of their royal position in the highest ranks of mega-groups with Dave, Rick, and Nick performing alongside Roger (yes, hell froze over) at Hyde Park on July 2nd. Now, if only Winger could get back together, the world could end on a happy note. By the way, now that everyone is aware that people are starving maybe they could send some fucking cash instead of all the rockers getting free gift bags…nice job Sir Bob…

Thanks to everyone who came out to see us do our thing at Live Bait. We had a blast but it was hotter than heaven out. Why hotter than heaven you may ask? Well think about the following true story: A thermodynamics professor had written a take home exam for his graduate students. It had one question: "Is hell exothermic or endothermic? Support your answer with a proof." Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's Law or some variant. One student, however wrote the following: First, we postulate that if souls exist, then they must have some mass. If they do, then a mole of souls can also have a mass. So, at what rate are souls moving into hell and at what rate are souls leaving? I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for souls entering hell, lets look at the different religions that exist in the world today. Some of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to hell. Since, there are more than one of these religions and people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all people and all souls go to hell. With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in hell to increase exponentially. Now, we look at the rate of change in volume in hell. Boyle's Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in hell to stay the same, the ratio of the mass of souls and volume needs to stay constant. So, if hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter hell, then the temperature and pressure in hell will increase until all hell breaks loose. Of course, if hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in hell, than the temperature and pressure will drop until hell freezes over. Interesting, eh? Anywho, have a happy 4th and until next time, remember the ancient Chinese proverb: He who go sleep with itchy asshole – wake up with smelly finger…

Check out the tour page. We'll be playing tonight and tomorrow night at Live Bait. Come show your support and get away from the mundane. Vegetating on the couch watching Law and Order, picking your nose, and eating Swiss Roles is cool and all, but seeing us is better.

Somewhere over the rainbow is a madman collecting the other shoe that isn’t on the highway, guitar picks and hair ties. Somewhere under the rainbow is a fungus covered hermit named Ed. Ed’s personality does nothing to override his grotesque visual features nor does Ed’s inner being hold anything more sustentative then an empty crayon box. Fungus boy does, however, represent all that is terribly inconsistent in what we deem as reality and shows us how non-cohesive the solidness beneath us can become in a fraction of a second. Underneath everything in life that is as pristine, beautiful and as natural as the rainbow there lies an Ed. A fungi infected reminder that nothing is as it seems, waiting to feed from the scraps that fall from the light above. Fortunately for us, Ed won’t be at Live Bait this weekend. We have that slot. Be there, don’t be an Ed.

Isn’t it funny how one day everything seems so pretty and the next day some bureaucratic right-wing Nazi Fascist is imposing a law that doesn’t allow you to walk your poodle on the left side of the street two days after a full-moon between the hours of four and six pm? Let’s paint a picture and call it “American Musician: The Poverty of Sound”. Can you see Johnny in the frame? Johnny and his dream…Johnny needs more than talent, needs more than looks, he needs more than the almost statistically significant impossibility of landing with the right bunch of folks…Johnny needs most of all, the blood thirsty drive of the entrepreneur, the full realization of the capitalistic ideology that justifies what some would call the “American Dilemma”. And most predominantly, the unrelenting belief that the ideology is in fact a truism. Johnny smiles in the picture after a life of hard work if he holds this quality and frowns if he is just a being that loves to play and create sound for himself and others. Not because he regrets his path but because of the sacrifices he has endured that has left him in a constant struggle to survive. Of course it always helps to know someone and a fan base never hurts either…So bring your asses to our upcoming shows and keep a regular check as our new website will be evolving and updated often.
